Scan a QR Code From a Picture Online

Save the QR code as a picture or take a screenshot, upload it above, and read the decoded result. Scanely does not open links automatically, so you can check the destination first.

1. Make sure the full square code and its clear border are visible in the image.
2. Drop the picture into the upload area, choose it from your device, or paste a screenshot.
3. Review the decoded URL or text. Copy it, or open the link only after checking the domain.

The decoder extracts standard QR content such as a website URL or plain text. It is a QR decoder, not a general UPC or EAN barcode reader.

How to Check a QR Code Online Before Opening It

Upload the image and inspect the exact decoded destination shown in the result card. Look for misspelled brand names, unexpected domains, URL shorteners, or a protocol other than HTTPS. The tool helps you inspect the destination, but it does not certify that a website is safe; do not open a link you do not trust.

If the QR Code Will Not Decode

Crop away unrelated parts of the picture while keeping the full code and its light border. Try a sharper image with stronger contrast, remove glare, and avoid pictures where a corner is hidden. A tiny QR inside a large screenshot may work better after cropping around the code.

Private, Browser-Based Decoding

The image is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to Scanely. Transparent PNG and SVG assets are decoded on a white background. Check the final design separately if you place the QR on another surface.
