Start with the destination you expect to maintain. A static QR is useful for a stable URL, including a page or redirect on a domain you control. A managed dynamic code adds a redirect service so you can change destinations through its dashboard.
Create a QR in Canva
- Open your design, go to Elements, and search for QR code.
- Choose Create static or Create dynamic, enter your URL, customize, and save the code.
- Place it with clear space on all sides. Export the finished design and scan a printed proof.
Canva’s current help guide lists Insights, expiration settings, and additional controls for Business, Enterprise, and Nonprofit. Third-party QR apps within Canva can have separate accounts and terms.
Bring a Scanely QR into your design
- Download a free static QR for a fixed link. For destination editing and tracking, create a dynamic QR in your account first.
- Export PNG at a suitable resolution or SVG for resizing. Use the transparent QR tool if your layout already has a plain, light background.
- Upload the image into your Canva design. Keep it square and preserve its empty border; do not crop it to the dark modules.
- Scan the final exported file, then a paper proof. Confirm both the URL and the action on the destination page.
The free static download and a newly created dynamic QR contain different URLs. Use the dynamic image in your design before printing if you want Scanely to track scans. Uploading an existing QR image does not transfer its management to Scanely.
Choose a format for the finished job
Use PNG for a straightforward image upload. Keep its original resolution instead of enlarging a small screenshot. SVG keeps the QR edges sharp when scaled in editors that accept it. For print, check the final PDF as well as the source image: export settings, cropping, and a busy background can all affect readability.
